Ribbon Cuttings with OneRedmond

At OneRedmond, we proudly support our local business members through Ribbon Cuttings and Open House Celebrations—both valuable, no-cost opportunities designed to help you connect with the community, build visibility, and celebrate key milestones.

Ribbon Cuttings

Ribbon cuttings are ideal for celebrating major business milestones and are available to both new and existing members who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Recently opened their business or relocated within the past six months
  • Under new ownership or management
  • Remodeled or expanded their existing location
  • Newly joined the OneRedmond Chamber

What’s Included with a Ribbon Cutting

When you host a ribbon cutting with OneRedmond, we provide support to help make your event polished, visible, and memorable:

  • Ceremonial ribbon and oversized scissors for the official cutting and photo opportunities
  • Social media promotion to highlight your event and invite our audience to attend
  • Newsletter inclusion (when timing allows) to reach our 14,000+ subscribers
  • Event listing on the OneRedmond website calendar
  • Courtesy invitations to the Mayor, City Council, and OneRedmond Board Members (advance notice recommended)

Attendance is typically driven by the guests you invite, and we encourage members to invite their clients, partners, friends, and community to help make the event a success.

To take advantage of this service, new members must fulfill their membership dues payment prior to planning a ribbon cutting or publicizing an event.

Open House Celebrations (New!)

For members who may not be celebrating a grand opening but would benefit from inviting others into their space, we now offer Open House Celebrations.

This option is perfect for businesses looking to:

  • Showcase their space, services, or offerings
  • Build relationships with fellow OneRedmond members
  • Invite the public to experience their business in a more informal setting

Open House Celebrations include:

  • Promotion through OneRedmond social media channels
  • Inclusion in our newsletter (when timing allows)
  • Event listing on the OneRedmond website calendar
  • Courtesy invitations to the Mayor, City Council, and OneRedmond Board Members (advance notice recommended)

Availability:

  • Limited to one Open House per member every three years
  • Open House Celebrations are offered on a limited, discretionary basis, with scheduling determined by OneRedmond’s capacity

Why Participate in a Ribbon Cutting or Open House?

Incorporating a Ribbon Cutting or Open House into your marketing strategy is a powerful way to introduce or reintroduce your business to the community. These events provide meaningful opportunities to:

  • Build relationships with local leaders and fellow businesses
  • Increase visibility and awareness
  • Celebrate milestones with your community

Criteria for Chamber Involvement

  • We strive to schedule only one event per day and a maximum of four events per month
  • Please provide multiple date options to accommodate OneRedmond and City of Redmond availability
  • A 4–6 week notice is recommended to support marketing and communications, including newsletter and calendar placement
  • Please provide high-quality logos and any event details (offers, activities, etc.) to enhance promotion
  • Events held during the day tend to align best with the availability of OneRedmond and city staff

Scheduling Your Event

We recommend initiating the planning process at least six to eight weeks in advance. This allows us time to coordinate with chamber staff, invite elected officials and Board members, and promote your event through our channels.
